Women's (and Men's) wellness

Sayo first started her acupuncture practice in New York City, where she  got to work closely with mothers-to-be, whether it was for infertility/conception, labor induction or postpartum complications, such as hormonal imbalance and breast-feeding issues. Sayo looks forward to growing the community here in Tucson as well.

Menstruation issues

So many females suffer from painful periods and days of taking painkillers and thinking that it's all normal. This is NOT normal, and just couple acupuncture treatments can improve the situation greatly.

Infertility

Acupuncture can...

  • Improve the stress, anxiety, or depression that the mother is going through.
  • Regulate hormones and menstrual cycles.
  • Increase blood flow to the uterus and ovaries.
  • Increase the thickness of the uterine lining.
  • Improve ovarian function, yielding higher quality eggs.

Breech baby + Labor induction

We recommend patients come in before the end of 37 weeks. Treatment is generally given between weeks 30 through 38, with week 34 being the optimal time. This treatment can be needleless and simply warming some specific points in your toes.

Labor induction sessions will be done by needling some points to promote the cervix to relax and, at the same time, activate the uterus to get ready to contract.

Menopause issue

Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine offer a holistic approach that can reduce or even eliminate the menopausal symptoms of hot flashes, night sweats and insomnia without the use of Hormone Replacement Therapy and other medications.

MALE REPRODUCTIVE & Sexual HEALTH

We don’t talk about it much, but males are responsible for 40 to 50% of all infertility cases.  As in other realms of reproductive health care, Chinese medicine has proven that effective, individualized treatments address a variety of issues including:

  • Low sperm count
  • Low sperm motility
  • Problems with morphology

We can also address libido, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, prostatitis and other issues that may be affecting male fertility or sexual health.
